HAGAN ski mountaineering workshop in the Silvretta

Would you like to go "up high" when ski touring and attempt your first ski tour? Then our ski mountaineering workshop is just the thing for you. During the ski mountaineering workshop led by a state-certified mountain guide, we will combine a three-day ski mountaineering tour with workshop content such as terrain assessment or roping up on the glacier. The crossing takes place in the Silvretta and Bielerhöhe area at over 2,000 meters and is therefore extremely snow-sure.

Ski high tour schedule: from April 12 - 14, 2024:

Day 1: Meeting point at the Vermuntbahn valley station, where we do an equipment check and hand out touring skis. Afterwards ascent with the Vermuntbahn and transfer with the tunnel cab to the reservoir on the Bielerhöhe (2000m). There we start with an explanation of the large and small avalanche transceiver check and climb through the Klostertal to the Klostertalerhütte. Introduction to assessing the terrain and snow conditions. After the Klostertalerhütte, the ascent to the Sonntagsspitze and then the descent, if conditions permit. If the conditions do not allow it, we alternatively take the crossing to the Ober Silvretta via the Klosterpass. This is followed by a second short ascent and then a descent to the Silvretta hut. After dinner, tour briefing and planning for the next day. We will spend the night on Friday 12.4. in the Silvrettahütte SAC.

Day 2: After breakfast, introduction to roping up on the glacier. Then ascent via the Silvretta glacier to the Silvretta Egghorn (3147m). Descent via the La Cudera glacier. Depending on conditions and group size, ascent towards Piz Fliana. We head south past Piz Buin to Chamonna Tuoi (Tuoi hut). We use the afternoon for an avalanche exercise and a workshop on crevasse rescue. After dinner, tour briefing and planning for the next day. Overnight stay on Saturday 13.4. in the Chamonna Tuoi CAS.

Day 3: We start early for the highlight of our crossing, the rear Jamspitze (3155m). If conditions permit, we take the exciting descent towards the Ochsenscharte. After a short, steep descent secured by the mountain guide with skis on our backs, we put our skis back on and ski at the foot of the Dreiländerspitze, over the Ochsenscharte to the Wiesbadener Hütte, where we toast the last few days with a drink before tackling the last few meters back to the Bielerhöhe, where we take the tunnel cab and Vermuntbahn cable car back down to the valley.
Return to the car in the afternoon.
